The Czech Open 2012 will be held in Prague on Saturday 14th April 2012. It will be the last Bix Six tournament of the World Table Hockey Tour 2011/2012 (WTHT) and therefore it may decide the overall ranking of the WTHT. The Czech Open 2012 will be also a part of the Czech Cup series (Czech). This tournament will be the biggest tournament of the current season in the Czech Republic. All the best Czech players are awaited to participate. We would like to welcome a lot of foreign players at this tournament as well.
All foreign participants must pre-register before the tournament until 12th April, 12:00 AM. Czech players can register until the end of the presentation on the day of the tournament in the venue, but we kindly ask to pre-register in advance, so that we know the number of participants. Entry fee for the tournament is 150 Czech crowns (or 7 Euro). Only the open single tournament will be held.
There will be six basic groups (but it can be changed according to number of participants), which will be created by using the world ranking. The draw of the tournament will be made after the end of the registration at the place of event.
There will be one final group A, which will have 30 participants - best 5 players from each basic group. The results of the mutual matches will be counted (only) into the final group A. The other groups will have 24 participants (group B and C) or 18 participants (groups D, E, F and G). Best 16 players from the final group A will promote to play-offs - played best of seven. At the other groups there will play-offs for the best 4 players played best of five. No placement matches (like bronze medal game) will be held, final table of group will be used for deciding the final placement.
Tournament will be played using the official international rules.
There will be used suplaks made by Zbynek Pilar on every game.
