| The draw for the Open Category |
The draw will be made on Friday evening. There will be 5 basic groups, so we need to divide players with respect to their playing level and their nationality. It means that there will be used strict rules for the draw.
The player's level is taken from the World Ranking (because it's probably the only possibility how to compare so many players from different countries), so once again big thanks to Martin Arenlind who is the author of this ranking. The used ranking is as it was on 17th May 2005.
There will be created baskets containing 5 players of the equal level (according to the World Ranking). Then these 5 players will be divided into 5 groups. The distribution will be restricted by counts of players of the same nationality at each group. It means that not all players from 5 in one basket can go to every basic group. The accessible groups for each player will be displayed by each player. The draw will be made with a help of computer and data projector, so everybody will be able to see...
You can see at the picture the draw for Henrik Brodin. He is the 1st player to be drawn from this basket of 5 players. He is 1st one because he has only one possiblity (the least possibilities from all players from this basket) of the group he can go into. If there would be more players with the same count of possibilities, then the player who is better at the World Ranking would be taken first.
How is possible that Henrik can go only to the group 4 (and in fact there is no draw for him)? There are 9 Swedish players in the Open Category. It means that at every group there has to be at least 1 Swedish player and no more than 2 players from Sweden. In fact there will be 4 groups with 2 Swedish players and 1 group with 1 Swedish player. In our situation there isn't any Swedish player in group 4 and Henrik is the last Swedish player to be drawn, so he has to go to group 4.
You can also see that both Russian players from this basket can go only into groups 1, 2 and 3, not into group 5 (group 4 is already designated for Henrik). It's caused by the fact the in group 5 there are already 2 Russian players.
With respect to the described rules the draw will continue for all players. The number of a group will be always drawn by organizers using sheets with numbers (corresponding to the numbers of accessible groups for each player).

| Official labels |
 There will be an official result sheet by every game. The winner of each match has to write the result after the match into this sheet (when the result is a tie, one of the opponents has to write the result). The result sheet will contain many small self-adhesive labels.
Description of a label at the result sheet:
Top ... Player 1
Bottom ... Player 2
Rnd 2 ... number of the round in the group
4 - 40 ... Group 4, game number 40
Result area ... Score of player one is at left
Winner area ... Please, mark who won or if it was a tie - this is just for being sure that you wrote result in a right way
The small self-adhesive label will be taken away by organisers after each round. All small labels will be sticked to a special paper - each paper for each round / group. Organisers will write results from this official collection of small labels to computer and will publish it at the playing hall and at Internet.

 All players will get their personal sheet which will be just for their own convenience. There will be a list of all matches in a group. This sheet isn't an official one, it's just for players and this sheet will be kept by players after the competition.

Pts. ... the sum of won points (just for information for player, not the official data)

Top 10 players from each group will promote into 2 final groups (A1 + A2) this way:

| Draw for the Team Competition |
There will be draw on Friday deciding which teams will meet at the qualifying matches. There will be also drawn numbers for all other teams. The numbers will be used for making fixtures for the team competition. The formula is as shown:

| Sheets for the Team Competition |
There will special match sheets for both teams competitions (Open and Ladies).
There will be a list of players from both teams. The team has to mark players who will play at this match (new player can be added to the list too, important is only to use up to 9 players during the whole team competition). Marking must be made by numbering players from 1 to 5.
Players with the same numbers from both teams play in the first round. This is written at the fixture for 1st round at the sheet.
The team which doesn't move when playing next rounds is that team which was better at the last WCh (or by the World Ranking if the team wasn't at the last WCh). So there is this ranking: Sweden,
Norway,
Finland,
Czech Republic,
Russia,
Latvia,
Germany,
Slovakia,
Hungary,
Austria,
Italy,
Belarus,
Denmark,
Estonia,
Ukraine,
Team Rest of the World. The team with a better placement at basic group doesn't move at play-offs matches.
There is awarded 1 point for each winning match and no point for a tie match or lost match. Teams should fill the awarded points at the paper.
After marking numbers by players at the team sheet, organizers will take the sheet to computer and bring back the 2nd version of the team sheet.
At the 2nd version there are just names of 5 players from both teams. There are also fixtures with names of players for all matches.

There will be made a draw also for ladies, junior and veteran categories on Friday. There will be drawn just numbers for all players. These numbers will be used at fixtures for these competitions. Formula is as follows:
